WFA is organised by Cooperativa QRER
The Walking Festival Ameixial is one of the most important projects of QRER - Cooperativa para o Desenvolvimento dos Territórios de Baixa Densidade and involves several of its members.
The organisation of this festival is in line with its mission and commitment to stimulate the sustainable, economic and social development of the Algarve’s interior, valuing its identity and resources. Year after year, hundreds of walkers are attracted to the parish of Ameixial to enjoy a weekend in contact with nature and cultural heritage, which generates an important impact on the local economy.
Co-organised by Proactivetur and the Projeto Estela
The collaboration of Proactivetur, QRER's cooperating company, and the Projeto Estela in festival organisation is essential to ensure that the festival can be held and that all editions are operational.
They are responsible for the general coordination of the event, including the programming and management of the partnerships developed with different local agents and other regional and national organisations.
